  1. This isn't forgotten to me. When I was a junior in highschool, I was in an AP block class for American history and American literature. The English professor loved Hawthorne and we read a bunch of him, even more after she thought we didn't fully grasp romanticism and made us do two units of it. Ha.

    1. Rose also loves Hawthorne and instantly named off various other short stories that would be wonderful. It took me until a couple of years ago to overcome my high school aversion to having been forced to read The Scarlet Letter. And I am now a Hawthorne fan too ... though I admit that Rappaccini's Daughter is really well known and not forgotten. :-)
